GOLDEN ISLES MUD TRACK RULES FOR 2009

 

 

ALL CLASSES -  ALL TRUCKS

  • All drivers MUST be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license.
  • Drivers cannot be drinking any type of alcoholic beverage.
  • NO Passengers Allowed.  NO EXCEPTIONS! 
  • Seat belts and helmet are required.  Also a 2lb dry chemical fire extinguisher mounted in reach of driver. (Required by state law) 
  • Must have hook-up in front and rear with easy access for towing out of pit. 
  • We WILL NOT hook to chain or wrap a cable around your bumper.
  • Only one crew member allowed with truck when in staging area.
  • Must remain with truck at ALL times while in staging area.  If you are repairing truck, let track official know.
  • A 5 minute grace period will be given if vehicle is not ready for run.  Track officials will not hunt driver to run.  If driver is having a problem, they must come and notify a track official.
  • All back beds MUST be clear of any debris that may on or in the track.
  • MUST have good working brakes.
  • 5 mph speed limit anywhere on the grounds.
  • Trucks can enter more than twice in the same class, whether you have the same driver or multiple drivers.
  • Trucks may only place ONCE in each class.
  • No profanity, fighting or misconduct.
  • Running order will be determined by drawing when you register.
  • Second run will be in the same order as the first run, unless changed by track officilas.
  • If driver cannot register for the race before cutoff time, they must have a representative register for them.
  • Anyone caught breaking track rules will be banned from competition.
  • Protests are allowed by anyone iin each class.  A $50.00 protest fee must be paid to the person being protested if they are not found to be illegal.  A track official will make the final decision to determine if the person being protested is illegal.  If found illegal, the person being protested will be disqualified.
  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN STAGING AREA ALLOWED.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Please keep up with your children.  We do not provide a day care service.

PRO STREET CLASS

  • Factory appearing body, full factory frame with cross member 
  • Factory cab, door post, rocker panel, striker panel, door must be operational
  • Beds must have complete inner panel with floor-v beds - ok
  • Factory windshield, front-plexi or lexan - ok
  • Adjustable coil over shocks - ok
  • NO 4 links, 3 links - ok
  • NO aluminum blocks, aluminun heads - ok
  • Engine set back 4" max from stock location
  • Any 4 barrel carb - ok
  • Racing gas only - no fuel mix or nitrous
  • Batteries, fuel cells and added weight must be fastened securely
  • Roll cage required.  5 point harness required.
  • DOT cut tires - ok
  • Drive shaft loops are required
  • Open fenders well or frames exit headers with collectors
  • 4 wheel independent brakes
  • Maximum wheelbase - 130"
  • 640 cubic inches or less
  • Factor Transfer case only
  • Double reservoir master cylinder required
  • Weight: Small Block - 3150 with driver; Big Block - 3400 with driver
  • Helmet and safety belts required

PRO-STOCK CLASS

  • Domestic or import trucks and sport utility vehicles 
  • Factory reproduction of fiberglass bodies or parts allowed
  • Factory body may be lightened and gutted
  • Bed side skins only - ok
  • Center seat - ok
  • Chain driver transfer case - ok
  • Factory frames only.  Lightening holes in side railes are ok.  Must retain at least 2 original cross members and be factory width.
  • Vehicles with fiberglass bodies or open top must have 6 point cage or 4 point cage on hardtops
  • Wheel base may be extended 10% of stock wheel base up to 12"
  • Engine may be set back 10% of wheelbase, but no more than 12" from center of front differential to driver side first spark plug
  • NO aluminum engine blocks
  • Any engine and any engine modifications
  • 1 or 2 carbs, alky or gas.  No blowers or fuel injection
  • Nitrous oxide allowed
  • Cut DOT tires with 44' limit
  • 3 and 4 link with coil over shocks - ok
  • Front tires must be in fender well at 50% minimum
  • Helmet and safety belts required

 

SUPER STREET CLASS

  • Full factory body with correct wheel base, O.E.M. fiberglass hood only. 
  • Mild fender cut for tire clearance
  • No gutting or hulling
  • Bed must have factory fender well with factory floor, wood, steel or minimum of 1/8 inch steel plate
  • Full factory dash; after market gauges - ok
  • Lifts - ok
  • Factory type suspension
  • Minimum of 3 main leafs on the rear axle
  • Adjustable coil over the shocks - ok
  • Shock relocation - ok
  • Ladder bars - ok
  • NO floater or sliders
  • NO engine, transmission or transfer setbacks
  • Any gear driven or factory chain driven enclosed transfer case - ok
  • Factory glass front, plexi rear - ok
  • Single seat - ok (Racing) 5 point safety harness recommended
  • Factory steering or after market rack and pinion - ok
  • 4-wheel independent brakes
  • Any vehicle with removable top must have 6 point roll cage or top on
  • Single carb., gas only
  • Open fender well or frame exit headers with collector
  • Battery & fuel cell must be fastened securely
  • Racing gas only - no fule mix or nitrous
  • Drive shaft loops are requird
  • Helmet and safety belts are required

SMALL BLOCK CLASS

  • Must have a small block engine
  • Factory bed wood or steel 1/8 thick
  • No gutting or hulling
  • Lifts - ok
  • Factory glass front, plexi rear - ok
  • 4-wheel independent brakes
  • Factory steering or after market rack & pinion - ok
  • Racing gas only - NO fuel mix or nitrous
  • Battery & fuel cell must be fastened securely
  • Single carb., racing fuel only
  • No engine or transmission setbacks
  • At least 3 leafs on rear
  • Coil over shocks - ok
  • Helmets and safety belts required

A-PRO CLASS

  •  NO gutting or hulling, except for replacing the factory set with a racing set.  A 5 point harness and fender trimming for tires - ok
  • Stock appearing body with stock frames, fiberglass hood - ok
  • All trucks must have glass windshield, door panels, bed and dash.  Head lights and tail lights are required.  You can have plexi glass or lexan for back glass (for roll cage purposes)
  • Must have front bumper (rear bumper is not necessary)
  • You can have open headers.  Mufflers are not required
  • Factory suspension with lift kit.  No. 3 or 4 links, sliders, floaters or coil over adjustable racing shocks.  Ladder bars - ok
  • Must have at least 3 main leafs in rear and 2 in the front and mounted in factory shackles.  Leaf springs must push truck
  • NO nitrous equipment on vehicles at all.  NO trans brakes or 2 steps
  • NO aluminum heads
  • Cannot have engine setback.  Stock positions only
  • Maximum of 510 cubic inches.  Must have factory block.  NO aftermarket blocks
  • Fuel cells and batteries in the bed of the truck are okay but they must be securely fastened
  • Factory steering or rack & pinion - ok
  • Kill switch mandatory in rear of truck
  • Must have neutral safety switch
  • Must have helmets                     

CONSISTENCY CLASS

  • Any truck can run this class
  • Trucks must meet all safety rules
  • All drivers must wear a helmet and seat belt

 

OPEN CLASS

  • Wheel base 150' max, 80' min
  • Any engine with any modifications
  • Blowers permitted
  • Nitrous oxide permitted on all engines
  • 4-wheel drive only
  • Helmet and safety belts required

MODIFIED CLASS

  • Any body & any chassis, 150' limit on wheelbase, no rear engine
  • DOT tires only, cut 44' limit
  • NO blowers
  • Fuel injection & nitrous allowed
  • Any engine and engine modifications
  • Helmet and safety belts required
